Production
Honeywell Specialty Additives - is the world’s first commercial manufacturer of low-molecular-weight polyolefin polymers. Today, we offer a significant portfolio of products for increasing production efficiency for the widest variety of plastics applications. Our broad range of PVC solutions include single-ingredient vinyl lubricants and customized high-performance vinyl lubricant blends. Each is designed to increase production efficiency. A portfolio featuring A-C homopolymers and high-efficiency, A-C–oxidized lubricants for a variety of PVC applications optimizes production rates by reducing plate-out and torque— without altering process characteristics or sacrificing quality.

In extrusion - Polyethylene Waxes can provide increased output rates, reduced calibration plate-out, increased filler level maintaining physical properties and enhanced surface quality.

In calendering of rigid PVC films - Polyethylene Waxes act as efficient release agents and in flat film extrusion they provide an improved anti-sticking behavior.

In PVC injection molding - Polyethylene Waxes can provide controlled melt viscosity and optimized melt flow, improved color stability, superior gloss and surface aspect, improved mold and runner release performance, improved weld line strength.

A-C Polyethylenes - offer a variety of low molecular weight polyethylene homopolymers and oxidized polyethylenes for use in PVC operations. They principally act as external lubricants but also provide a variety of other benefits.

High-density oxidized polyethylenes - are very efficient external lubricants that speed fusion and improve metal release in rigid extrusion systems. Other benefits include increased melt homogeneity which results in improved dimensional stability of the extruded product and increased production rates. High-density oxidized polyethylenes also improve weld line strength in injection molding applications and improve metal release in conventional and hot runner systems.

Low-density polyethylenes - are efficient external lubricants that help to maintain premium physical and aesthetic properties of the extrudate under high shear operating conditions. Low-density oxidized polyethylenes provide good metal release and increased gloss, while low-density nonoxidized polyethylenes provide good external lubrication and fusion delay.

RL 655 - Honeywell developed new synthetic polyethylene (PE) waxes as cost effective alternatives to by-product waxes and thermally degraded waxes (TD waxes). Due to its synthetic nature this Rheolub series of waxes has superior physical properties and quality consistency over by-product waxes and TD waxes, which are respectively side stream products and degraded products of PE resin production. It is used in the production of masterbatches, for impregnation of cable paper, the processing of rigid PVC and plasticized, in hot melt adhesives, road paints.
